A story from a 100 year-old lady living at Windemere
August 4, 2018
I wanted to share a story that a 100 year-old lady living at Windemere Nursing & Rehabilitation Center told me today. It was during one of the Music Outreach Programs that I run.
She had spent the morning outside watching a little ant on a rock....
"This little ant seemed terrified," she said, "as he couldn't figure out how to climb down off of that rock. He kept going from one corner, and looking down, to another corner and looking down, and did this for about four hours. Finally he came to the edge and started down. I thought he was going to fall, but he got down on the grass and disappeared. I was admiring him! I'm sure he was young, because he didn't know how to get down off of that rock."
She went on to say, "My mother taught me to be concerned about little things. If you really look you see all sorts. If you don't you miss the qualities in life that are interesting."
